FANTA conducted a comprehensive review of the challenges, successes, and lessons learned from the experiences in Ethiopia, Malawi, and Niger in incorporating community-based management of acute malnutrition (CMAM) into their respective government health facilities and protocols. This review discusses recommendations for successful and sustainable integration of CMAM, outlining the specific steps donors, ministries of health, United Nations agencies, and nongovernmental organizations can take to facilitate the process and the next steps needed to expand the knowledge and evidence base for CMAM integration.
