Taking place in Chicago from October 31–November 4, this year’s American Public Health Association (APHA) Annual Meeting and Exposition brought together more than 12,000 participants from around the world to network, educate, and share experiences around the theme, “Health in All Policies.”
Experts at this year’s meeting included FANTA staff presenting on recent work from Ghana, Guatemala, and Uganda:
- Bridget Ralph, Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition Program Officer, presented the poster, “Creating the Next Generation of Nutrition Leaders in Uganda" about the The Uganda Nutrition Fellowship (UNF) Program.
- Kavita Sethuraman, Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition Technical Advisor, presented the poster, “Validation of Food-Based Recommendations Developed using Optifood for Groups at Nutritional Risk in the Western Highlands of Guatemala.” Read the full report.
- Kavita Sethuraman presented on, “Achieving the Zero Hunger Pact in Guatemala: What will it cost to provide comprehensive preventive maternal and child nutrition services to reduce stunting?”
- Kavita Sethuraman also led a round table discussion, “Development of a public health nutrition workforce: Nurses and midwives in Ghana.”
