Frontline health care providers have direct contact with patients and communities and are often the first and only link to essential health services for most people in developing countries. Investing in the education and training of these health workers can improve service delivery and yield significant health and economic returns. This technical brief, aimed at government ministries, pre-service teaching institutions, and other stakeholders, describes the process and methods FANTA used to strengthen pre-service nutrition education and training of frontline health care providers.
