FANTA Presents Research at the 2016 International Conference on Family Planning

International conference on Family Planning logoThe 2016 International Conference on Family Planning will be held January 25–28, 2016, in Nusa Dua, Indonesia. The conference brings participants together to share the latest family planning information and best practices and to shape the role of family planning in attaining the new Sustainable Development Goals.

On Wednesday, January 27, FANTA’s Reena Borwankar, Nutrition Delivery Science Technical Advisor, will be presenting research results during the following sessions:

  • 12:00 to 1:20 p.m., session 2.2.15: “Nourish and Protect: Re-envisioning and revitalizing communication about LAM and return to fecundity to bolster family planning and infant feeding outcomes,” Borwankar will be presenting results from formative research on the promotion of the lactational amenorrhea method and exclusive breastfeeding in Madagascar. The session is located in Legian 3.
  • 4:20 to 5:40 p.m., session 2.4.17: “Integrating family planning with maternal, infant, child, HIV, and nutrition programs,” Borwankar will be presenting results from a desk review of programs integrating family planning with nutrition and food security. The session is located in Legian 6.
  • 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.: At an auxiliary event “Advocacy and Action: Harnessing the power of family planning to improve nutrition and food security,” Borwankar will share findings from family planning integration case studies in a multipart session on improving linkages between family planning, nutrition, and food security. The session is located in Legian 3.
