Recognizing that collecting information on the quality of nutrition service delivery was essential for improvement of services, FANTA assisted the Uganda Ministry of Health in developing the Nutrition Service Delivery Assessment tools. These tools enabled assessment teams to complete a comprehensive assessment of nutrition care and support services at hospitals and health centers in Uganda. The assessment results on the status and quality of services will be used by planners, policy makers, program managers, nutrition implementing partners, and service providers to enhance capacity and improve the quality of nutrition service delivery in Uganda’s health facilities. The tools are tailored to the Uganda health system, but can be adapted to assess health facilities in other countries.
