The Essential Nutrition Actions (ENA) is an approach that expands the coverage of seven affordable, evidence-based actions to improve the nutritional status of women and children, especially those under 2 years of age. This review found that the approach has been incorporated into the Ethiopian public health system and into multilateral and nongovernmental organization programming. However, improved training and other steps are necessary to further institutionalize the approach. The review examined a number of facilitating and inhibiting factors affecting ENA integration in the context of Ethiopia’s health system.
