This workshop report provides an overview of the overarching issues, obstacles, and successes encountered in the integration of community-based management of acute malnutrition (CMAM) into national health systems. These include the importance of ministry of health leadership, the need to strengthen capacities at most levels of a health system and to provide simple protocols to facilitate implementation, and the critical need for open and frequent information sharing. The report highlights presentations and discussions by international experts in CMAM, including those from USAID, UNICEF, the World Health Organization, developing country ministries of health, and nongovernmental organization implementers.
