FANTA and the Office of the Prime Minister developed the Uganda Multi-Sectoral Nutrition Coordination Committee Orientation Package to help stakeholders establish and operationalise multi-sectoral nutrition coordination committees (NCCs) in Uganda. The Orientation Package will be used to strengthen the capacity of nutrition coordination committees at the local government level by providing information on the nutrition situation and the policy environment for addressing malnutrition in Uganda. The package also covers the roles of and linkages between NCCs, technical planning committees, and councils, and provides NCCs guidance on how to monitor and report on multi-sectoral nutrition interventions. 

The Orientation Package was developed through a consultative process with national and local government stakeholders including United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), USAID’s Strengthening Partnership Results Innovations in Nutrition Globally (SPRING) Project, USAID’s Community Connector Project, and USAID’s Communication for Healthy Communities Project (CHC).
