Developed by the Tanzania Food and Nutrition Centre (TFNC) and FANTA, the NACS training package is centered on training facility-based health care providers, based on national and global references and standards. The first 2011 TFNC-approved edition was distributed and used for NACS training nationwide, and served as a model for other FANTA-supported countries and NACS products. The 2016 edition, approved by the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children, includes revisions based on government and implementing partner’s NACS training and experience along with technical updates. It is a key component of the Tanzanian government’s commitment to integrating quality nutrition services into routine health care and treatment under the National Multisectoral Nutrition Action Plan (2016−2021).
